A strange collection of writing prompts

Laundromat owner-woman in her thirties at her wits end with her job whose life has recently been completely shaken up by the large amount of fey and spirits that have recently moved into town and are coming into her business more frequently than the humans because many of them don’t know how to work the washing machine and dryers in their new houses. This then escalates into questions about how to live in human society, questions about the stereotypes we make for each other and whether beauty norms actually matter to your happiness, and with every answer the woman gives she feels more and more like she actually can find a way through the mess of expectations and societal pressures that have been built up around her. It’s essentially just a case study in how talking something out is much more beneficial than holding it in your head all the time.

A single mother taking care of her child on the outskirts of civilization. After a day where she baked a bunch with her daughter and couldn’t eat it all so they left a lot of it out by the tree line, the mother has been mysteriously receiving help from some of the spirits in the woods. Unknowingly they have put themselves in acquaintance with the Adder queen and Night prince, who are now competing for attention and favors.

A small village north of the one the girl is living in that only exists on rainy days

A person who can’t remember their own life so they collect lost lockets in order to regain the emotions they lost. They probably live kinda remotely or close to a city but have become very good at being ignored.

When humans began exploring the galaxies, they weren’t expecting to find aliens in the way they did. The only thing that seemed to have survived was their art.

A halloween party stuck in a time loop

A human assistant working for the head mage of a secret society dedicated to the restoration of magic.

Goose is the name the last living Eden soldier has given herself, having risen to a form of godhood through the excess amount of magic left after the war. She only has her caretaker for company, a god of sleep who was born from the shell of Capital G God. She has used this godhood to heal earth’s moon, the battle ground of humanity’s last war, letting it grow into the thriving ecosystem it once held during the first great migration. She’s also created much of her own, building all manner of things she thinks will make it more interesting. Goose is the only human left, and she knows it, but instead of letting the war she fought in and watched destroy her species, she lives out her life dedicated to her humanity, indulging in the things she finds interesting and conversing with Senoia, her caretaker, about life and what both of them have experienced over the thousands of years they’ve been alive.

A woman wanders the valley, wearing only a thin cloak to shield her from the elements and a face scarf hung from the sides of her face. No one knows who she is or how she doesn’t die from being out there, but still she lingers. She barely knows what her role is anymore, just the fact that every creature in the valley steers clear of her and the lingering memory of a dying daughter. She carries her head as she walks

The Little Hearts Society-a large union of crafters who work to better the lives of those from poorer backgrounds working on the neon market.
