2026-2027 Student Leaders
The Skyline Learning Center is a student-run, student-centered program that puts tutors in important decision-making and organizational roles.
Each year, Learning Center students are selected to serve as program leaders to mentor and train tutors, maintain our partnerships, organize the publication of Teen Spirit, lead our social media and marketing, and develop exceptional events, like our International Write-In for Change.

Leader Statements:
Ronan Brannock: Everyone that’s been through high school knows that there are few spaces where one can be themselves. Safe spaces where one can tell a joke, read their own writing out loud, ask questions, make mistakes, and hide in the snack cabinet without anyone in the room thinking it’s weird. Well, I found one of those spaces and it’s located in the 4th floor next to the Nurse’s office (no it’s not Jobe’s room). I thank the Learning Center for always being a close-knit community that embraces diversity and respect. It is my pride to have a spot here, truly, If I could share advice with anyone, it would be: if you haven’t gone to the center yet, sprint.
JJ Jones: It is so special to find a community where it not only builds you academically but also as a person. For me, I used to view the Learning Center solely as a place to rant about my AP lang essay or that Algebra homework. However, the Learning Center gave me enough experiences to realize learning doesn’t have to be done individually. The best results actually come from using all of our perspectives and ideas to create something better together. The Center helped me find my voice and my confidence. It helped me find myself. I hope that everyone who walks through those doors finds that same sense of belonging and growth for themselves.
Maisie White: I joined the Learning Center my sophomore year and it has truly been such a great experience! Being able to help my fellow students, all from different walks of life, has really grown my adaptability and confidence. It has shown me first hand all the different ways there are to learn, teach, and grow. But, it is so much more than a place to get help with homework or learn some studying techniques. It really is a unique community. No matter what sort of day you’ve had, the Learning Center is always a welcoming space. There is always someone to laugh with, or to understand how you feel, and it really is something special.

Learning Center Houses
The Learning Center’s House system is a tiered mentoring system designed to create a more personalized climate for tutors in the Writing Center so that they can use their voice, find a home, and receive individual feedback and mentoring. Each of our student leaders mentors a group of 8-10 of their Learning Center peers throughout the year to help Learning Center feel like a team and to ensure that all tutors can be at their very best while collaborating with their classmates.
Meet Our First Trimester Tutors!
1st Hour

Allison – Allison is a senior at skyline high school, and this is her first year as a tutor! She thoroughly enjoys reading horror, watching movies, listening to music and most importantly animals. She enjoys tutoring in almost every subject. Her strengths include Psychology, History, Algebra 1, and a little general SAT ELA and Math. She is excited to meet the people of skyline, and make a welcoming community to all.
Penelope– Penelope is a junior here at Skyline, and this will be her first year as a tutor in the Learning Center. She especially enjoys math and is interested in becoming a secondary math teacher. She enjoys explaining problems and concepts in a way that works best for each student. She can also help with science, including APES, as well as some French. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with friends, is a competitive dancer at AADC, and plays softball for Skyline in the spring. She is excited to get to know the Skyline community and hopes to make tutoring a fun, welcoming, and positive experience for everyone!
Daniel– Daniel is a Senior from Budapest, Hungary. This is his first year as a tutor. His passion for helping others learn stems largely from his own passion to grow. He really likes to break down complicated concepts with his peers, and to learn with them together. Daniel is particularly interested in tutoring chemistry, but he is also looking forward to helping with english and all levels of math. Outside of school, Daniel enjoys rock climbing and creative projects.
2nd Hour

Adelyn– Adelyn is a senior and this is her second year in the Learning Center! She loves reading, writing, art, watching movies, and the outdoors. She also snowboards in the winter and bikes in the summer. Her favorite movies are Princess Bride, Coraline, and Dead Poets Society. She is happy to help with any english, writing/editing/grammar/punctuation, history, biology, psychology, and a little geometry!
Zea– Zea is a 11th grader here at Skyline, and this is her first year as a tutor. She plays soccer, runs track and is in orchestra for the school, and has fun being outdoors, reading, and spending time with friends and family in her free time. She especially enjoys tutoring in Science and English, but can also help with math courses and some Spanish. She decided to be a tutor here because she believes that helping others learn is a great way to help learn and better understand the content yourself.
Liv- Liv is a junior and this is her first year in the Learning Center! She enjoys golfing and spending time with family/friends. Her favorite type of writing to help out with is short fantasy stories. She also enjoys tutoring algebra(s) along with history (especially US/APUSH)!
Izzy- Izzy is a second year learning center tutor in her senior year! In her free time, she loves to hangout with friends, go to new coffee shops, play volleyball, go on walks, and go to the gym. Her favorite kind of tutoring math help, or editing short stories. She also enjoys helping in classes that have to do with business. She currently plays on Skylines varsity volleyball team and has done Deca the past three years.
Audra– Audra is a senior and this is her 2nd year in the Learning Center. She helps tutor in English, History, and Science. In her free time she enjoys traveling, watching movies, and walking in nature. Her favorite movie is Pride and Prejudice. Outside of school she is an equestrian and volunteers at the Humane Society. She is excited to meet new people throughout Skyline and help them grow as a student.
Jacob– Jacob is going into his Junior year and his second year of tutoring in the Learning Center! In his free time he enjoys playing soccer, fishing, and hanging out with friends. His favorite subjects to tutor are Algebra 1, Geometry, Science, and ELA. Combined with a mix of Spanish 1, 2, and 3. Over the course of last year he enjoyed building connections through tutoring and revisiting past subjects he had classes in. He would love to help you with any subject or talk sports!
Max: Max is a senior, homegrown in Ann Arbor. He spends a lot of time in nature doing bird watching, insect observing, and general nature appreciation, and spends a lot of time listening to, and occasionally himself playing music. They are passionate about helping others and helping to build up the confidence of others. He primarily tends to excel at english, most sciences, social studies, and spanish language. They are an intermediate speaker, and are capable at helping and assisting other learners of the language.
3rd Hour

Henry– Henry W. is a Senior at Skyline High School, and a aspiring tutor in his first year with the Learning Center. Henry takes a Creative writing class and writes often when he has the time. Henry loves clothing and listening to music. His favorite genre is alternative space rock. In his free time, he loves to drive.
Maddie– Maddie is a senior, and this is her second year being a tutor. She is a House Leader in the Learning Center and is the president of Skyline’s theatre troupe. In the past, she has tutored algebra 1 in the classroom, but is happy to help with any subject (especially physics)! In her free time, Maddie enjoys nature walks and reading!
Kylie– Kylie is a senior and this is her second year in the Learning Center. She absolutely loves animals. Learning about animal behavior and training is one of her favorite activities. Kylie’s favorite thing to write is poetry and creative writing. Her favorite subjects are math and choir. Kylie would love to help people with math, writing, and history; and she would be willing to help people with science. Outside of school, Kylie loves to participate in theater and Skyline Blues.
Anneka (Not Pictured)– Anneka is a current Senior and math mentor in the Skyline Learning Center. She enjoys dance, violin, anthropology, linguistics, and reading. While specializing in math tutoring, Anneka is ready to help with writing, reading comprehension, Latin, executive functioning skills, and more. If you want to get her talking, Greenland, religious studies, and transitional periods in human history will always work (discussion is welcome, though not always prioritized). Anneka can tutor all required math courses, plus AP Calculus, Analytical Thinking, and Accounting.
4th Hour

JJ- JJ Jones is a Senior coming from Winston-Salem, North Carolina and this is her third year as a tutor. JJ’s life journey has taken her through various corners of the United States, from New York to California. Through this time she has built a love for making connections, travelling, and helping others grow their skills. She is currently in Chinese 4, AP Calculus, and willing to help in all levels of english. She loves reading, playing guitar, and playing tennis.
Jack– Jack is a Sophomore at Skyline and this is his first time tutoring for the learning center. Jack plays for the Skyline Varsity soccer team and plays soccer outside of school as well. His favorite subjects to tutor are math, chemistry, and he is willing to help out in english. Outside of school, he enjoys playing soccer, playing guitar, and hanging out with friends.
5th Hour

Henry- Henry is a senior, and is excited to be a part of the Learning Center for his second year! He has done all kinds of things at Skyline including being on the soccer, basketball, track, and cross country teams as well as taking Journalism and multiple AP classes. He is willing to help you in any subject that you need help with including math (up to Stats), english, science, spanish, and history. Outside of school, Henry loves to run, play video games, and watch sports, especially football (Go Blue!) over the weekend while cheering on his fantasy football team.
Eshaan– Eshaan is a senior entering his first year as a tutor in the learning center. Outside of school Eshaan enjoys fly fishing, playing soccer, pickleball, and hanging out with friends. His favorite subjects are math and science and is able to help up to Calculus and Statistics as well as in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.
Chesney– Chesney is a Sophomore in her first year of tutoring in the learning center. She love animals, art, and movies. She’s raised 4-H livestock for twelve years and is also in P2P at Skyline. Her favorite writing style is persuasive writing. Her main focus is on Math but she also enjoys History, and can help in ASL 1.
Maisie– Maisie is a senior entering her third year tutoring in the Learning Center. She really enjoys reading, writing, and all things psychology. As such, when it comes to tutoring she loves to help with all things reading, writing, research, and having to do with the social sciences. Additionally, she worked her way up to French 4, and can assist with that as well!
Allison: Allison is an incoming junior at Skyline High School! This is her first year being a part of the learning center and she’s super excited to meet new people and grow individually! She’s taken a total of 5 APs so far and will continue to push for more! She is open and eager to tutor in her favorite subjects which are math (up to AP calc), science, grammar, and spanish (IV). Not only does Allison love her academic learning, she also loves her sports. She competes on both the varsity tennis and volleyball team for Skyline. Outside of sports she also enjoys many hobbies like watching movies, hiking, and taking naps. She is thrilled to work with other students and can’t wait to learn new things!
