Tell me about a movie…

Hey! My name is Diego, and I’m a big movie enthusiast. I think it’s a great way of connecting with people, ice breakers. So I decided to ask complete strangers, friends, and family to tell me about a movie they’ve watched and what they think of it. Any movie, it could be their favorite, the last one they watched, or maybe one they hate. So  here’s what I gathered:

Renee Rush, Building Sub: Anyone But You – “I thought it was hilarious, it was a good romcom, 5/5, it was funny”

Ian Saucer-Zeoli, Junior at Skyline: Avatar: The Way of Water – “I saw Avatar 2 and I thought it was… remarkably boring. There was nothing interesting about it. It didn’t bring anything new, and I didn’t really like it. It gets 2/5 at best, it has some good visuals but nothing else.”

Nick Lacy, College and Career Center Coordinator: Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone – “I don’t really go out to the movies very often… I will say, the first time I saw the Harry Potter movie, it was a total disappointment, Because I love the books and I just really thought that they… I think the biggest problem was that they didn’t have enough time, and rather than being a movie, it should’ve been a mini-series, and I think they are making Harry Potter into a mini-series, which I fully support. I have to give it a ⅗, yeahhh, I’d like to give it a 4, because of Dumbledore, the first dumbledore in the first two movies is really good, but there was just so much that was left out, so, I have to give it a 3.”

Marty Lee, Senior at Skyline: La La Land – “It’s just the most-watched move I’ve watched. I;ve watched it multiple times. I love that it’s just not really a sad movie, it does have kind of a sad ending, but it doesn’t feel like a sad ending, and just, overall it’s a calm movie overall. I would give it a solid 4.5/5.”

Juan Pablo Hurtado-Cardenas, former 9-year-old brother: Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets – I really like Harry Potter’s second movie, I’m a huge fan of the scene with the Basilisk in it, when they go into the Chamber of Secrets and then they find Voldemort there. Hmmmm… I give it a 4.5/5.”

Overall, I had so much fun. I have to admit, I was so nervous to walk up to strangers, but it was worth it. I absolutely love La La Land, and now I have to watch the “hilarious” Anyone But You, and I definitely need to avoid Avatar 2… I had fun interviewing my best friend Mr. Lacy, and of course Juan Pablo was an important pillar of this experiment, truly a professional. I encourage anyone to ask people about movies, it’s always a win/win situation. You don’t know the movie? New Recommendation! You watched the movie already? This stranger is your best Friend now!
