By now, we are more than 11 weeks into the school year. We have had no substantial time off from school, with the most consecutive days off being 4 for our mid-fall break in the middle of October. Looking ahead, we have less than two weeks left until finals, and the recent day off for the election makes everything feel more tiring. The deadline for submitting late work and redoing mastery has already passed, and combining this with finals makes students very stressed out. On the upside, one thing that students have to look forward to is Thanksgiving Break. This year, Thanksgiving Break grants us three school days off from school from November 26th-28th, as well as Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30th off as well. While Thanksgiving is hidden between Halloween and Christmas, it is an underappreciated holiday, as students have much to be thankful for, including a much-needed break from the workload of school.
“My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is the food,” said senior Bruno Cifaldo.
This was also repeated by multiple other people, with Kyle Krasan saying that “The food is definitely my favorite thing about Thanksgiving.”
While food was by far and away the most common answer, a few people answered that they liked the break from school. Gus Finn said, “The break away from school is my favorite thing about Thanksgiving Break. Being a senior, common apps are done, and cross country just ended, so I get a much-needed break.”
As you can see, Thanksgiving Break offers a wide variety of things to do and is a great way to relax after a stressful trimester. Now, after reading this, I hope you look forward to and cherish your Thanksgiving Break, but also don’t forget to study for finals!!!!
