I feel like a lot of people are misusing Artificial Intelligence. I believe that AI was made to be used as a tool, not something to fully rely on. I think that the main issue of AI comes from people using it for everything, and copying it word for word. I’m not saying that AI isn’t a useful tool, it certainly can be, but AI is most importantly not a crutch. I believe that AI can be a great help, for example, it can help in the brainstorming phase of writing to either bounce ideas off of. But that’s what I’m saying to bounce ideas. Not to have AI come up with all of them for you.
AI can also be a good learning tool. It should always be used as a supplement to actual
learning. I think that AI is fine for helping you solve a math problem in order to help you
understand the concept more. I remember once I just asked AI: “Is my answer correct, yes or no.” I found that really helpful. But again, AI is not something whose work should be copied.
Now, AI art. AI art is not something that should be revered or congratulated. I will admit, I am not a great artist, but that doesn’t mean I will ever use AI for art. Another common use of AI images is to have a person you know doing something. If I want to do that, I prefer photoshopping. But again, I don’t really know how to photoshop. But I think that’s what makes it good. Bad photoshop is funny. Even if the photoshop isn’t perfect, you can tell that some human effort was put into it. Even if it took only a few minutes (and no, prompting is not effort).
Thank you for listening to my rant, and I hope you don’t use AI as a crutch. Random unrelated side note: AI isn’t profitable. I have relished a little bit in corporations realizing that, and I feel like the AI craze is about to die down.
